Helen was admitted to practice law in 1998 after graduating from the University of Technology (UTS), Sydney with a Bachelor of Law. Since being admitted Helen has worked primarily in boutique and mid-tier firms where she forged close, trusting relationships with her clients.
Helen practices across a broad range of areas of law including family law, elder law, civil litigation, worker’s compensation, insolvency and debt recovery. Helen strongly believes in alternative dispute resolution, which has led her to appear in numerous mediations to resolve matters which commenced as court proceedings. Over the past 18 years she has practiced in different jurisdictions including the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court and Federal Court as well as the Worker’s Compensation Commission.
Throughout her career, Helen has conducted matters in the Federal court concerning shareholder disputes and Australian Consumer Law Consumer Claims as well as conducting matters in the Supreme Court in relation to the winding up of companies. She has also appeared in the Federal Circuit Court in relation to bankruptcy applications and family law matters. Helen has undergone further training in insolvency education offered through the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turn around Association (ARITA) and has completed a LEADR mediation workshop. Helen is a WIRO approved solicitor, as such she can seek legal funding for worker’s compensation matters.
